Josè Perez
José Perez was born in Havana, Cuba in 1976 – his star sign is Pisces.
He began his studies at the "ALEJO CARPENTIER "National School.
In 1996 he graduated with a diploma from the Garcia Lorca Theatre at "Intermediate Level". He was qualified as a "Ballet dancer and Teacher of classical dance".
In summer 1996 he was invited to Italy to participate in the competition Giovani Talenti (Young Talents), where he took out first prize and he was cast by the Compagnia del Teatro Nuovo of Torino as a "Soloist".
After dancing for several months with the National Cuban Company, he decided to leave Cuba and to move to Brasil.
In the same year he won the gold medal at the International Ballet Competition of Havana and another gold medal at the "Grand Prix Uneal".
In 1997 he was the undisputed winner of the first prize at the "FESTIVAL INTERNACIONAL DE BRASILIA".
In 1998 he moved to Germany, beginning his career as the PRINCIPAL BALLET DANCER of the DRESNA OPERA THEATRE.
In 2003 he received the "MARY WIGMAN PRIZE" as best dancer of the year. In July 2003 he became one of the "STARS" of the SCOTTISH BALLET.
Owing to his special artistic talents, he was invited to participate in the Italian television show “AMICI DI MARIA DE FILIPPI" in March 2004, and in Rome he was awarded the "GINO TANI" prize for his extraordinary gifts as a classical ballet dancer.
Since September 2005 Josè has brought his experience and professional talents to the "AMICI DI MARIA DE FILIPPI" show with the objective of presenting dance to the public, an art that is still to be further admired and appreciated on television.
